James O. Onditi is currently seconded as the Manager Administration and Finance at Kenyatta University Women’s Economic Empowerment Hub. The Hub was established by a grant from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. James is also the Manager Business Development at Kenyatta University Capacity Development and Consultancy Services since August 2018. He served the University in the same capacity under the Kenyatta University Consultancy Services Unit (KUCSU) from June 2016. He also served at Kenya Industrial Estates Ltd (KIE) as Assistant Manager Business Development and Financial Services (September 2012 to June 2016 ), Acting Manager Business Development Department (May 2013 to January 2014), Senior Officer Risk Management (June 2011 to September 2012). He also worked at Equity Bank Limited as a Supervisor Agency Banking and Acquiring Business Channels (ABC) (April 2010 to June 2011), Relationship Officer Credit (August 2008 to April 2010).
James O. Onditi is currently pursuing PHD in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship) from the University of Nairobi. He holds a Masters of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi (UON), Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Business Administration) Degree from Kenyatta University (KU) and a Diploma in Information Management Systems (IMIS1-UK) from Strathmore University. He is an Associate Member of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK). He has undertaken a number of short courses in management and transformative leadership, Research Governance and Leadership, Pedagogy and Andragogy , WHO COVID-19 Mass Gatherings Risk Assessment, digital, social media marketing and Organizational Knowledge Management (KM). Additionally, he has been trained in Enterprise Risk Management framework, credit appraisal and management, business planning, budgeting and financing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). He is a certified Quality Management Systems (QMS) Internal Auditor ISO 2001:2015; and trained on Risk Based Thinking ISO 2001:2015. He is currently championing Good Financial Grant Practice-ARS:1651 certification for Kenyatta University.
He has undertaken a number of consultancy and donor funded projects. Some of the international agencies he has worked with include: Johns Hopkins University, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, The George Washington University, International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW), University of California San Diego, German Development Agency/GIZ Kenya office, European Union, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The World Bank, USAID/World Wide Fund (WWF), UNDP, International Labor Organization (ILO), The Government of Rwanda among others. James has also underaken projects with the Government of Kenya Ministries and Agencies including: The Ministry of Public Service, Youth & Gender Affairs (State Department of Youth Affairs), The Ministry of Devolution and Planning, The Ministry of Education Science and Technology. The agencies include: Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, Kenya Bureau of Standards, Kenya Industrial Estates, National Industrial Training Authority, International Peace Support Training Centre, KETRACO, KWS, Teachers Service Commission, Uwezo Fund amond others.
